This Privacy Policy explains how Prime Essence (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit theprimeessence.com (the “Site”), subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us.

Data controller: Prime Essence, operated by a private individual based in Hungary (EU).
Contact: hello@theprimeessence.com
You can request the full identity and postal address of the controller at any time by email.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address (and your first name, if you choose to provide it).
  • Contact form or email: your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Comments: the name, email address, and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent (used for spam detection).

Information collected automatically

  • Log and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored on your device that help the Site work and help us understand how it is used. See Section 5.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • send you the newsletter, free guides, and updates you signed up for;
  • reply to your messages;
  • operate, secure, and improve the Site (for example, preventing spam and measuring which articles are useful);
  • comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (for visitors in the EU/EEA/UK): your consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (site security, basic analytics, answering inquiries), and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing personalised advertising may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws; you can turn personalised ads off with the controls described in section 4.

3. Email newsletter

Our newsletter is managed with MailPoet, a WordPress plugin. Your email address is stored in our WordPress database, and emails are delivered through MailPoet’s sending service. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We may track whether emails are opened and which links are clicked to improve our content.

4. Third-party services

We use trusted third parties to run the Site. They only process your data to provide their service to us:

  • Hosting: Hostinger (servers that store the Site and its data).
  • Email: MailPoet (newsletter delivery).
  • Forms: Fluent Forms (contact form, stored in our WordPress database).
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4, connected through the Site Kit plugin (aggregated statistics on page views, traffic sources and devices).
  • Social media: Pinterest and other platforms linked from the Site have their own privacy policies.
  • Affiliate partners: when you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set cookies to attribute the purchase. See our Disclaimer & Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense serves the display ads you may see on the Site. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies, or read cookies already on your device, to deliver ads, limit how often you see them, and measure their performance.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Google advertising: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on the Site. This enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and to other sites on the internet. You can turn off personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, you can decline without losing access to the Site, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time.

5. Cookies

We use:

  • Essential cookies needed for the Site to function (for example, security and login cookies).
  • Analytics cookies (only if enabled) to understand how visitors use the Site.
  • Affiliate cookies set by partner retailers when you click an affiliate link.
  • Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners to serve and measure the ads on the Site. Where consent is required, these are only set after you agree; if you decline, you may still see ads, but they are not personalised.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

6. How long we keep data

  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages: up to 24 months, unless needed longer for legal reasons.
  • Comments: as long as the comment is published.
  • Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the analytics provider (typically 14 months).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct or delete it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing);
  • receive a copy of your data (data portability);
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California and other U.S. state residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by these laws. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theprimeessence.com. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 30–45 days).

8. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as HTTPS encryption and access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be announced on the Site or by email.
